From work surprises to first anniversaries!!!

 Job Drama
Hello my dedicated blog followers out there! I know I left you with a cliff hanger in my last post... did I take the promotion and go to the HP account? Well... I did take the job! I started in March as a new Market Analyst for the HP team!!

As you all know I work for MarketStar which is an outsourcing company. This means that teams can come and go with a drop of a hat. Well... I received news about a month ago that the team I was hired on to work with was going away! That means one of two things for me... that I am either out of a job, or I find a new position in MarketStar. Luckily the VP of insights really likes me  (well at least I like to think so) and offered me a position in Ogden as a Market Analyst. He said it was because I was doing such a good job, and they couldn't afford to lose me. Okay... those were not the exact words, but you get the point :) This is the position I wanted in my last post. However, I really liked the HP team and I am so sad to leave them.

First Anniversary!
Kody and I also celebrated our first anniversary last week. We both had not taken a vacation since our honeymoon last year, and decided that a trip to Seattle would be great gifts to each other. We did so many fun things on our trip, but our favorite was visiting the Pike Place Market located in downtown Seattle. This market is awesome. We could have spent a whole day in just one part of town. We would highly recommend anyone to visit Pike Place Market next time they are in Seattle. We also decided to drive just north of Seattle and visit the San Juan Islands. We stayed on Friday Harbor in a bed and breakfast. We went hiking, shopping, and kayaking. The only problem is that Kody got violently ill on our kayaking tour. Poor boy... it wasn't very much fun for him. On our last day we took a tour of the underground city of Seattle. It was awesome to learn of the cities history. I have attached some pictures of our trip. I hope you all enjoy!
There are so many deer on San Juan

Beautiful hike we took

Pike Place Market! Our favorite spot!

Eating at Beth's Cafe

We decided to go to a place where Adam from Man Vs. Food had a food challenge. This is HALF of what Adam attempted to eat.

This is Kody Vs. Food.

Food Won.

It was a great vacation. We had a blast!

December 14th really means March

So.... I said I would be back after I graduated from college... but I guess that really means the beginning of March! It is crazy how fast life moves. I feel our lives have changed since I last posted. Kody started a new job as a manager of the Clinton Sprint store. He is a very busy boy because he is also going to school full time. He is expected to work around 45 hours per week. I am trying to help him out by doing some of his homework (mainly math). Can I just say that Weber State University has the WORST math program I have ever seen. When I went though math at the University, I went to class and a teacher taught me how to do the problems. Now  everything is online and you teach yourself. I know what you are thinking and yes it is very stupid. You can call me professor Little because I spend every Saturday at the math hub with Kody teaching him how to do his math so he can pass his quizzes.

I have also been offered an opportunity to accept a promotion with MarketStar. I would be a dedicated analyst for HP. I am having hesitation about accepting the position because it is in South Jordan. This would be a hour and a half commute for me on the Front Runner. I also love working on the reporting and analytics team I am on right now. I look forward to work everyday because of the people I work with. I just am not sure when an open position on this team would open up. I don't want to be an intern forever, and this might be a great experience for me. They are so much fun. I will let you know what I choose to do on my next post. :)

P.S. I added some pictures of my graduation... and of my cute little puppy!

Lumi Little

My new little friend

Kody and I decided that we wanted to get a little puppy. We searched all weekend for just the right little friend. I wanted to get a tea cup yorkie puppy, and Kody wanted to get a Maltese puppy. We found many yorkie puppies, but none of them felt like they were the one we needed to take home. Last night Kody found a posting on KSL.com for maltese puppies close to my parents house. We went over with the intentions to just look. When we met Lumi we knew we had to have her.

We took her home that night and played with her. When it came time to go to sleep we were both nervous that she was going to whine for her mama. The opposite happened... she slept though the whole night. She is the best dog ever. We are in love!

Sherman Tilli Potter

Warning: Very sad story ahead.

For those of you who know me really well... you know how much I loved my cat Tilli. My sister Morgan brought her home from her friends house when I was 12 years old. She instantly became a member of the Weaver family. She would wait for me to come home at night so she could sleep with me. She would make me feel better when I was sad. Tilli was the one who protected me at night when my parents were out on a business trip. (yes she was a ferocious cat and would keep me safe ha ha) Tilli was my best friend. I know that makes me sound like a crazy cat lady... but I loved her. There will be no other cat that is as sweet, obedient, and smart as her. I could go on and on about how unique of a pet she was.

Well when I got married to Kody, I could not bring her to live with me just yet. Our apartment was too small for a pet. Recently Kody and I moved into our own little house. We finally had room enough to have her come to live with us. I decided I would unpack our house first before I go to fetch her.

The day I was going to get her, my mom called me and told me she could not find Tilli. I dropped everything that I was doing and ran over to my parents house. I yelled and screamed her name, but she would not come. I knew something was wrong because she always comes when I call. I went to all my neighbors houses and asked if they has seen my pet. One neighbor had told me that they had seen her in their yard the day before, but they had "put her over the fence". Before I go on with my story, you must know one thing. Tilli was a very cautious cat. She would not let anyone touch her unless she knew them. When my neighbor told me that they had "put her over the fence", I knew that they had done something to her. For them to "put her over the fence" they would have had to make it so she could not run from them. I am not pointing fingers at my neighbors, but this was a very odd thing for them to say. It made me sick when they said it to me.

I went back to my parents house and started calling for her once again. This time I thought I would go into the back yard to call for her just in case she was hurt and could not jump the fence. I went into the back yard and glanced at her favorite place to sleep. That is when I saw her little body. She had gone to her favorite place to die. I screamed and my mom came running. My mom, sister and me spent the rest of the day crying over the lost member of our family.

I can not express how very sad I am. I will never forget my little friend Tilli. She did so much for me growing up. I know I will see her again. I just wish I could have said good bye.

Happy Sunday

For those of you who know me super well... you know that when I was younger I hated hiking with a passion! I would yell the whole time "I HATE HIKING!" Imagine the surprise of my parents when I was excited to go on a hike with my family yesterday after General Conference ended. I have actually grown to really enjoy going on a good hike. The leaves were changing and it was just beautiful. I think I forget at times how pretty Utah is. It was nice to get to do something fun with my family. I just really wish Breanne, Olivert, and the kids could have joined us. I am so lucky to have the family I have. I love them all.

Latest Obsession...

Vampire Diaries

Kody and I only have a few channels on our TV that we can understand (seriously like two English channels and the rest are Spanish). Luckily, I live right next to a Hastings that offers movie and television rentals. I have recently decided to start watching the vampire diaries television series. I am sad to say that I have become obsessed... I have to keep watching to find out what is going to happen next. It is probably a bad idea when I should be studying for my classes... but I just can't help myself! Do not worry too much about my grades, I am almost caught up, and will have to wait for the next season to come out....

What Matters the Most

One of our first dates

This boy means the world to me. I do not know what I would do without him. Even though I have only been married for a little over three months, I have learned a lot about relationships. Believe it or not I am not perfect, and Kody has shown so much patience with me. I have learned the true meaning of love through the experiences of the last couple months. Our relationship has grown so much in a short amount of time. Here are some tips that I have grown to learn since being married.

1- It is okay to go to bed upset.
I have learned that sometimes it is okay to go to bed upset. It seems that in the morning the things that seemed so big the night before do not really matter. We sometimes wonder why we were even upset in the first place. I have always thought that a couple should never go to bed mad at each other. In my marriage I have learned the opposite.

2- Make the other person feel special
Kody and I are very different in the ways we show love and appreciation. Kody tells me everyday that I am beautiful and he loves me. He is a verbal communicator in his expression of love. He also shows he loves me though spending time with me. I however enjoy physical touch. I love being cuddled and hugged. Kody is not the biggest cuddle bug. We have had to learn how the other person expresses their love and recognize it.

3- Let go of control
This is one of the biggest lessons I have had to learn. I am the type of person that likes to be orderly and have control in certain situations. I am just going to say it... I am VERY strong headed and I enjoy being right. Kody is almost the same way. He however, is a lot more patient than I am. I have learned that it is okay to let go of control in situations. I do not always have to be right.

4- Be your spouses biggest cheerleader
I think this is one of the reasons why Kody and I are so happy together. He believes that I am the absolute best at everything I do. I also believe that Kody is the best at everything he ever tries. He is the best sales person, snowboarder, hunter, handy man, extreme sports person that has ever lived! I truly think that it is important to have your significant other know that you think they are the best thing next to sliced bread. :)

5- Have the lord be the third member of your relationship
I would say this is the most important thing when it comes to having a happy relationship. I have learned that if we have the Lord as a significant part in our relationship we be happy together. This includes praying together at night, reading our scriptures together, and attending church every Sunday. One thing that I love about Kody is his spirit. Before I met Kody, I was heading down a path that could have destroyed me. He saved me. I couldn't be more grateful that he did.

There they are! Five things that I have learned in the past three months of marriage. These last few months have been the happiest of my life. I never thought I could love someone as much as I love Kody. He makes me weak in the knees every time he kisses me. I am truly blessed to have him as my husband.

Swiss Days Weekend

Kody and I had so much fun at Swiss days this weekend.
The first picture is of my awesome new ring Kody bought me.
Its a watch from the 40s that has been taken apart.
I thought it was so cool looking.
He also bought me a new scarf (he spoils me so much!)
It was fun staying in a tent together!
I love my husband so much.
It was nice to get away for the weekend.

The Ending of a Era

It was official
I no longer worked at KeyBank...
It was sad to leave all my coworkers and customers
I have grown to really love them all.
I had learned so much from working at this bank.
I will always have fond memories.
What I am going to miss most are my coworkers,
They had all became great friends.

On my last day... My coworkers threw me a party
they brought all my favorite foods.
They came to realize that I love random things ha

I felt so loved on my last day.

Demolition Derby

Date Night

Kody and I went to the Weber County demolition derby

60 Years

My grandma and grandpa Hatch celebrated their
60th Wedding Anniversary
last night!
They had a BBQ at my Aunt Paula's house
with all their family and friends.
My grandma Hatch is the most thoughtful person I know.
My grandpa Hatch is a very loving person.
The way my grandpa still looks at my grandma is so cute.
After 60 years they are still so in love!
I want me and Kody to be as happy in our old age.

This is me and my grandma exactly 10 years ago.
For their 50th anniversary they had me
wear my grandma's wedding dress.
She was SO small when she got married.
I couldn't fit in it now...
but my 12 year old self could :)
It is a really pretty dress.

Wedding Reception

Ever since I was a little girl,
I have always wanted my reception in my back yard.
I knew that I had the most beautiful yard around!
I got my wish when I married Kody.
The yard turned out better then I ever dreamed!
My colors were Black, White, and Tiffany Blue.
My dad worked so hard to make the yard look beautiful.
I really appreciate everything he did to make my wedding day everything I had ever dreamed.
Our neighbors let us borrow the back drop and tables.
I made the center pieces.
It was the perfect end to a perfect wedding day.
Thank you to all those who came to support us.
We love you all!

Good memories with one of my greatest friends!

This week my friend Kailee Ann Flink will be married!
I am so happy for this girl!
Kailee and I became friends though random circumstances.
One day I decided I wanted to be friends with Kailee,
So I invited her to my house to have a sleepover!
(Me and my other friend Angela would have a sleepover every Friday night when we were seniors in high school. We needed a third member of this tradition!)
Since then we have been best friends.
We have had so many fun times together.
(I couldn't find a normal picture of us... we were always pulling faces and having a good time!)
We have so many inside jokes.
I will always be friends with girl!
I love her so much!

Family Night

Family night

Kody and I try and do something fun every Monday night for family night. (Even though it is just us in our own little family)
This week Kody wanted to go the driving range.
The next morning he was going golfing with my dad and uncle and he wanted to show them his mad skill :)
It was really fun. Kody is a very accurate!
He is pretty much the best golfer ever! (I am a little bias)
I tried to be as good as  him, but I had to pretend.
I really only hit the ball like fifteen feet ha
It was a good night.

Seven Years of Good Luck!

We went on a cruise for our honeymoon!
One of the islands we visited was the Cayman Islands.
We booked this excursion through Carnival... It was called sting ray city and turtle farm excursion.
(We think the excursion could have been cheaper if we would have just got off the boat and talked to the locals... they like to give good deals!)
 It was so much fun!
We got on a small boat that took us to the middle of the ocean to a sand bar.
LOTS of sting rays hang out on this sand bar.
These sting rays were HUGE!
It is quite a sight to see!
Our tour guide said if you kiss a sting ray it is seven years good luck.
Me and Kody had to try! We need all the luck we can get :)

The turtle farm was also way awesome!
I have seen sea turtles before in Hawaii... but you are not allowed to touch them at all.
At this turtle farm we were allowed to touch and hold the turtles.
I have pictures... but they haven't been developed yet!
I will post them as soon as I can!
